ASTERIX TOUR TO ISLA CONTOY
The national park "Isla Contoy", it's located in municipality of Isla Mujeres, state of Quintana Roo and it's in fact the limit between the gulf of mexico and the Caribean Sea.
It´s decreed in 1961 during the administration of the lic. Adolfo lopez mateos, Isla Contoy like area of natural park and refuge of the national fauna. Later on, in 1986 for federal ordinance, was declare natural area for the protectio of the species of marine turtles; also, for its geographical position, "Contoy" is theideal refuge for a great number of birds and marine turtles in risk of extinction.
