Dining at the Omni Cancun

You will have an array of dining options while staying at the Omni, from the breakfast buffet to multiple fine dining options, obviously including Mexican fare. What might surprise you is that you'll find a fabulous Italian restaurant, and you can enjoy all the restaurants with no extra expense when staying on the all inclusive plan.

Da Vinci's Restaurant
Decorated with insightful details on Leonardo Da Vinci and his great works. This gourmet Italian eatery located in the center of the hotel's pool and garden area, features spectacular architecture and interior design!
La Paloma Restaurant
International cuisine with a preference for authentic Mexican cuisine. Open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., serves both a la carte and buffet dining.

Pina Colada
Is an open air, Caribbean restaurant right on the beach, serving breakfast and lunch. Specializing in seafood and grilled specialties, this casual beach spot is also available for special group parties and dinners.

Kuku's Bar
Also located directly on the beach, is an exotic rainforest Mayan paradise bordering on Indiana Jones style adventure, with lush vegetation, a Mayan style temple along the cave wall, relaxing hammocks, billiard table, and an enormous free form Jacuzzi with a sunken bar and view over the Caribbean Ocean. This spot is truly unique offering exciting adventure without leaving the lap of luxury.

POOL Grill & Bar
Bar is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and grill is open from 12 noon to 5 p.m. serving light items for lunch.

Lobby Bar
Partially overlooks La Paloma Restaurant and occasionally holds events such as Karaoke, Trivial Pursuit, Casino Night and Bingo. Open from 10 a.m. to 12 midnight with music in the evenings.

Recreation & Relaxation

There is plenty to do while staying at the Omni Cancun Hotel. Choose from lounging in the pools (I do recommend playing some water volleyball), to sunning on the spectacular sand beaches, taking in some tunes from a local band, or leaving property for a few hours to do some sightseeing in the Yucatan Valley that's rich with history. A funny thing happened on the way to the airport. We didn't go home! As we were about to check in to board our flight back to Newark, NJ airport, the lady behind the counter of Continental Airlines said, Our fights are overbook and we need some volunteers to fly out the tomorrow first class and to be put you in a nice all inclusive hotel for the night. Plus, a $300 voucher to use within a year to fly anywhere Continental flies. We walked away from the counter and was walking toward our gate. We quickly turned around. AAHHHH.... ookk. How do I sign up and how quickly can you get our bags to zoom us to the next resort!! FANTASTIC! LOL. It took a good hour for us to be on our way for someone had to chase down our bags and they had to clear customs. Since we kind of partied hard on the Captain Hook booze cruise, I was not in good shape to be flying home anyway. aaaaahhhhh. My luck on this trip was unbelievable!
THE HOTEL:
The hotel is huge and quiet and has a nice waterfall along the steps. The huge room had a king sized bed, a kitchenette with plenty of plates and silverware in the cabinets and draws. There was also a fridge in the room and not just a mini fridge. If you wanted to whip up a meal or ordered in, there was a dining table to eat your meals. There was also a huge balcony facing the main pool to watch people enjoy themselves. The main pool was huge and had a pool bar. There was also a kiddie pool as well. There were also two different sections with a jacuzzi which had pods for roughly four people or maybe more and each pod had their own controls to control the flow of the jets. Lovely! There was one jacuzzi next to the main pool and the other was on the beach. It was a jacuzzi bar, which was pretty cool! That same jacuzzi bar has swings on the other side so you could enjoy your drink and sit in a swing. The location of this place is at the beginning of the hotel zone coming from the airport right next to the Grand Oasis Cancun. There had to be less than 100 people in the entire place. It felt good to actually relax and get a vacation from our vacation with many nights of partying in the clubs of Cancun. All that stuff sort of catches up to you.
THE BEACH:
The beach was extremely clean and quiet. If you wanted to sit and read a book on the beach without any interruptions, this was the beach to do it. The only sound was the sound of the ocean swishing against the rocks. The ocean on this beach was really rough. However, the water was as turquoise as turquoise gets.
THE FOOD:
We only got the chance to eat at the buffet for the restaurant was only open from Wednesday to Sunday. While on vacation, my favorite meal of the day is breakfast and this place serves it until noon so if you wanted to sleep late, that was just fine! Most resorts stop serving at 10. The food for breakfast was pretty good for breakfast. It was the normal an omelette station, french toast, pancakes, plenty of fruits, sausages etc. For lunch, you choose from a variety of things on the menu. If you order a salad for a starter, they are huge plus the entree as well. For dinner, there was a buffet and menu options. The food was quiet tasty.
THE BAR:
I really cannot say anything about the strength of their cocktails for we didnt use them. Since I only drink Stoli and their bars only serviced Absolute and Smirnoff as their top shelf, we picked up a bottle of Stoli at the liquor store and just got chasers from the bars. We relaxed in the room for most of the night and rested up for our flight home the next day.
THE STAFF:
The staff was great. Since there was less than 100 people in the place, check in was a breeze. The bellhop was extremely helpful and gave us a run down of the entire resort. The only thing that was annoying was when you ordered anything you have to give the staff your room number even if you just wanted water from the bar. This resort has different packages to choose from. For instance, you could just pay for the room and buy meals and drinks as you go, pay for all inclusive on meals and non alcoholic drinks or simply pay for an all inclusive including drinks. I guess a place like this would be good for people on a budget because you can always find a cheap meal outside the resort.
