Comments & Reviews about Fiesta Americanca Coral Beach Cancun:

Stayed over labor day weekend to unwind. This is the low season so felt we had the facilities all for ourselves. Service is superb. Excellent gym and spa. Beach is perfect; protected from rough surf by a reef; white powdery sand. Prices very reasonable. Rooms big; furnishings and fixtures a bit outdated. However, the west tower is closed for renovation; once that is done they will renovate the east tower. Will def. return next year to enjoy the improvements.

My family of five stayed at F-A Grand Coral Beach the week of Aug 14-21. (Kids ages 8, 6, and 4) We had stayed in past years at the F-A Condesa Cancun, which was great, but the Coral Beach resort is a definite step up! The property itself is among the best in Cancun. Beautiful architecture, a HUGE cascading pool, and the best spot on the beach (Playa Norte) give it a head start vs most Cancun hotels. The lobby and hotel restaurants exhibit a very high class appeal. Additionally, the resort is situated in the most central location of the hotel zone strip; there are dozens of restaurants, clubs, and stores within a 5 minutes walk. We stayed in the junior suite with ocean view. The room was larger than your typical standard room, and it boasts of a step-down living area, with a couch, coffee table, and a side table with two chairs, plus a balcony with a phenomenal view of the pools, the beach, and the turquoise ocean. This step-down living area was a welcomed addition, as it provided an area away from the beds/dressers/closets for the kids to spread out a bit. The service was really fantastic. From the bellhops to the waitstaff to the concierge, everyone was extermely friendly, polite, and helpful. I have to expressly compliment the concierges Anna and Patricia, who were both extraordinarily helpful and patient when I had the misfortune of losing my wallet on the public bus. (Yes, it was definitely LOST, not stolen!) They were excellent in assisting me with all the calls I needed to make to cancel credit cards and secure replacements, at no charge to me. The hotel restaurants were wonderful, but a bit pricey. We were lucky enough to book a package that included the free brunch buffet for two at the Vina Del Mar restaurant which was absolutely divine! I would list all of the delicious (and fresh) items available but it would take way too much space; suffice it to say that there was plenty of fresh fruit, juices, breads, cereals, pastries along with just about any breakfast fare you could think of, and many mexican lunch items as well. I started off every beautiful day with a cup of coffee, and two bloody marys! La Joya was the hotels top-notch Mexican restaurant, with Mexican dancing and a Mariachi band. The food was tasty (if not plentiful), and the service exquisite. My family enjoyed the dinner and the show immensely. The Isla Contoy restaurant is situated at poolside under a large palapa, with a beautiful view of the beach and ocean. We dined here for a couple of lunches and one dinner; you can enjoy the fresh salsa and chips, with Mexican specialties, and the Fish Market where you get to pick your selection of fish and seafood, and the style of flavoring (garlic, chili, fra diavolo, etc). The fish market was phenomenal, but you are going to pay for it (the fish filets alone were priced at ~$38 US per lb) Luckily, the hotel had a Kids Eat Free promotion at all its restaurants during our stay. The pool was simply huge. It stretched from one end of the hotel to the other, and occupied different levels, with small waterfalls / bridges to break it up. The only complaint about the pool really for us was that you cannot walk the length of the pool within the pool. You have to get out three different times to traverse the entire length. This effectively turns it into three different pools as opposed to one long cascading pool. Additionally, I agree with the prior reviewer who noted that after a long day of the sun beating down on it, the pool water became rather HOT! Luckily there were some occasional sunshowers and overcast periods on certain days to temper this. Additionally, there was the beautiful beach and calm ocean with perhaps a more refreshing late-afternoon temperature. Now - for the few cons: Upon check-in the hotel provides you with a welcome letter which essentially says that for health reasons outside food and beverages are not permitted onto the premises. Within reason, the policy does not seem to be enforced, but I would be careful not to arrive with a weeks grocery shopping. If you need to grab a hot coffee, cold beer, or snack, there is an OXXO convenience store right next to the hotel. Then there is the Fiesta Kids Club, which is very limited. Basically, it is an afternoon babysitting service, with one hour in the kiddie pool, but then the remainder of the afternoon indoors in one room. There are a handful of toys and games, and some small craft activities, but the couple of times we dropped our kids off for a couple of hours, upon our return we found them laying on the floor watching television. In my opinion, the kids club needs to be scrapped and restarted from the ground up; it is not a highlight of the resort. In summary, this is a phenomenal resort for families, particularly if you enjoy hanging at the beautiful pool and beach, and dining at fabulous restaurants. The overall atmosphere here is very calm and relaxing, while the location is right close by the action at the heart of the hotel zone. If you are looking for a more active vacation, with organized activities for adults and for children, you might want to consider a different hotel. For my family, with our hectic daily lives, we were simply thrilled with the F-A Grand Coral Beach, where we were provided with the opportunity to relax and enjoy and reconnect as a family.
