Comments & Reviews about Crown Paradise Club Cancun:
was quite worried after reading some of the reviews on this hotel, but to be honest it was just what we were looking for - good food good service clean rooms polite staff , there was nothing we could complain about, spent plenty of money put on loads of weight got a nice tan . Well thats it great hotel for all ages loads for the kids to do good beach, if you have walking difficulties dont go because there is a good 40 steps to walk down to go onto the beach and quite a steep bit of a hill to get into the hotel from the main road [bus stop] . But i would deffinitly recommend this hotel.
My wife and I stayed for 10 days/9 nights on the 7th floor with a balcony (Room 1724) from Aug 22 to Sept 1.
Now, I know beach, travel, and ocean to support my assessment. We lived in Hawaii for 10 years, owned a condo in Kaneoke (5 min to Lanikai beach), traveled to 35 countries, stayed at beaches in all corners of the world except South Africa.
For the price and star-classification, this resort is absolutely amazing.
BEACH: Sand is so minced comparable only to Kailua or Lanikai of Oahu (Hawaii). Surf is just right. It is clean and well maintained.
POOLS: We are not pool people when travel to ocean. Given hundreds of people in the pools, I am sure the pools have their disadvantages.
GROUNDS: This place is beautifully maintained -- clean, neat, and well-supervised.
RESTAURANTS: For the resort price and massive volume of diners, CPC does a fantastic and amazing job with their fresh, clever, and infiinite choices of dishes, etc.
Sans Souci and the Mexican restaurants serve fine foods. The former was staffed with well-trained and -mannered waitstaffs. We live in Manhattan where you can blow $300 for 2 people on dinners. At CPC, it was free as the dining costs were built into the resort costs. In NYC, the price we paid for one night all-inclusive stay at CPC would buy you a 1.5 star hostel room with a shared bath.
We had breakfasts delivered every morning to our 7th floor. Always on time.
Room was as nice as any. Flat-screen TV was even in the room.
DRINKS: Alcohol was available, infinite, and as good as any. Of course, you could spend $14 for a better martini in Manhattan.
SERVICE: First rate for the large resort.
TIPPING: We tipped the room cleaners, and those who did more work.
BUS: There is a public bus @ 7 pesos that will take you all the way into centro. Fun, unpretentious, safe, and gets you there.
KIDS: We have never seen so many kids who enjoyed themselves and parents so happy!
ADVICE: Take bus to Market 28 and find the famous seafood restaurant (been there for 22 years) and eat away!!!! Cheers.
Any travelers who downgrade this resort are: (1) those who don't travel much, (2) too cheap to stay at the Mandarin and yet demand Mandarin standards (go stay at the Mandarin at Columbus Circle in Manhattan, there is a fleet of Bentley waiting for you at the curb), (3) cannot tell the difference of traveling for fun and their domicile (stay home if you think the world is so dirty and annoying!)
