We got a rough start with this hotel. I made a reservation with Priceline because they were offering a beach view. When we got there we found that Priceline did not do the reservation, so I had to pay again in cash. And I am still waiting for Priceline to give me my money back. Luckily the hotel had space, and once they showed me the rooms I decided to stay. We got a big condominium with a fantastic view of the water from its two rooms, the balcony and the dinning area .
It is an older hotel, true, and has a few problems, but this kind of room was a rare find and we were a few meters from the water.
The main disadvantage of this hotel is that management allows boat passengers to wait on the beach in front of the hotel. So, in the mornings, the little beach is crowded with people who are waiting to go to Isla Mujeres. In the afternoons the beach gets better, but be advised that in this area of Cancun the waters are calm, shallow and beaches are narrow. There is no beach bar in the hotel but I had a pleasant walk along the beach and found a beach restaurant besides the hotel.
