national park "Isla Contoy", it's located in municipality of Isla Mujeres,
state of Quintana Roo and it's in fact the limit between the gulf of mexico
and the Caribbean Sea.
It´s
decreed in 1961 during the administration of the lic. Adolfo lopez mateos,
Isla Contoy like area of natural park and refuge of the national fauna.
Later on, in 1986 for federal ordinance, was declare natural area for the
protectio of the species of marine turtles; also, for its geographical
position, "Contoy" is theideal refuge for a great number of birds and marine
turtles
in risk of extinction.

for his expeditions to America.
She is the same kind and almost the size as the orginial caravels used by
the conquerors of Mexico at the beginning of the XVI th. century who started
