Semi-submarine at Nizuc Reef
Discover the underwater world of Cancun without getting wet. The Subsee Explorer is a cross between a yellow submarine and a glass-bottom boat.
The reef through panoramic windows
Meet at the marina in the Cancun hotel zone half an hour before departure. The Reef Express boat crosses the Nichupté lagoon for about 20 minutes and takes you to the Subsee Explorer, which looks like a submarine but does not submerge.
Explore the reef in air-conditioned comfort on a narrated ride through coral gardens full of fish. During the 35-minute ride you will see corals, turtles and many fish — and, if you are lucky, even a shark.
You will also see part of the Cancun Underwater Museum (MUSA), with statues such as Resurrection and The Speaker. Visibility depends on weather conditions.
On the way back, relax with a drink and enjoy the views of the Caribbean Sea.
