My wife and I 42 and 39 have been to the Cancun/ Riviera Maya area around 2 dozen times or more and have stayed at most of the hotel chains there (Palace resorts, Iberostar, Riu, Melia, Dreams to name a few so we do have some experiences. I have been using TA for many yeasrs now and like to give back my experiences to help others find the stay they are looking for as we are all looking for different things on vacation.
That said, I enjoyed my stay at Temptations, I feel the food was not quite as good as some of the higher end hotels I stayed at (but close) but you do gain in the activities by the pool. The pool is very active and not for everyone as they are sometimes crazy and if you are not very open minded can upset some people, I loved it though, The hotel was full capacity and many topless women and drunk people by 4 PM, bottoms do occasionally come off and you may see some steaking buts but no biggie.
The workers were nice, check in easy, my room was great and newly decorated, air conditioner worked perfect, mini bar with a few beers and sodas is a nice touch which is normal in most hotels, we never used room service but the menu looked good and plentiful.
They have a gym on the second floor, it is small, my wife and I are avid gym people, she ran on the treadmill and eliptical a few time and I took the week off as it was not equiped enough for me and is most hotels in Cancun or anywhere for that matter.
The nightlife was good, so good we never left the hotel to go out to the bars...we have been to Coco Bongos, the city and all the bars many times and Paty-O's, the outside bar in the hotel was fun and hopping while we were there, it stays open until 5 with a chef grilling burgers till closing, nice for late night muchies, they had a live band two nights and DJ the rest plus other activities. We've probably stayed at nicer hotels with better food and definitly a nicer beach but overall we had a great time and I would recomend this hotel to the people who like to have fun and are not snobish about making new friends and letting loose.
And no I never felt like it was a swingers hotel, just real people having a good time.
PS...The hotel is not in the club zone, more towards downtown but very accessable by a .75 cent bus ride and only a few minutes.
